Website redesign, maintenance and tuning

IBM site underwent major redesign in May 2000. IBM divisions were given guidelines on use of color, fonts and navigation. Printing systems division needed a complete redesign of content areas of ten main pages by May 1. The pages needed to become user friendly, to get warmer, to be compatible with new navigation and color scheme. Design samples: original homepage layout website

The initial design had to be scrapped due to update to guidelines. In five frantic days new design was created, cropped, HTML code written and incorporated into database. Printing Systems division was one of only two divisions which followed new guidelines to the letter.

The new design presents printing systems with friendly human face. Homepage is cut in easily browsable pieces of information. Keywords and page descriptions are optimized for search engines. Images are optimized and HTML code is simplified.
